The premise of this comic is to have a stick figure protagonist in our third dimension, so I thought it made sense to have a primary adversary who was determined to destroy the defining aspect of her world.

For various reasons, I'Grr is unaware of the more recent successes of, say, 3-D movies, virtual reality, etc.

I edited down the exposition here considerably to keep the story moving, but there is a lot more that the FaceWorm could say about this.

For many years, I thought it was interesting that we humans tend to tell our stories and represent our existence in 2-D. (Of course, there are exceptions like sculpture.) Astrology especially is fascinating... stars are located billions of miles apart in all directions, and yet we try to make sense out of them by turning them into connect-the-dots pictures in the sky. We then turn around and try to use them to interpret our complex personalities and chart the course of our lives based on them.

I am most at ease creating 2-D artwork... it is easier to draw the facade of a building than to imagine and design the experience of an interior space.

Anyway, in my mind, this is a fairly important page for the story.
